The Montgomery and Frederick County area have many options when it comes to golf. Renovations were recently completed at Falls Road Golf Course, one of Montgomery County's most popular 18-hole public facilities, as well as at Laytonsville Golf Course. Laytonsville hosts the county's annual senior golf tournament as well as a Mid-Atlantic Senior PGA event. A variety of educational programs are also offered at this course including summer camps and specialized clinics for both children and adults. For a quick short game, Silgo Creek Golf Course in Silver Spring offers a popular Par 34, 9-hole course. Needwood Golf Course, another public course located in Silver Spring, features an executive 9-hole course that is good for all skill levels. Golfers can also find a challenging game at RedGate Golf Course. This 18-hole, short-yard course features hills and narrow fairways. Hampshire Greens is another popular course located in Silver Spring. This course offers four sets of tees to give golfers a continuously challenge. Along Hampshire Greens is a public golf course, plans are to turn it into a private club over time. Other popular courses include Poolesville, Rattlewood, Little Bennett and Trotters Glen golf courses. Weekend rates on most of these courses range from $50 to $75 for 18 holes and cart rental.
